*Reflections* --> Embracing your Singleness...

"I want you to be free from the concerns of this life. An unmarried man can spend time doing the Lord's work and thinking how to please Him. But a married man has to think about his earthly responsibilities and please his wife. His interests are divided. In the same way, a woman who is no longer married or has never been married can be devoted to the Lord and holy in body and in spirit. But a married woman has to think about her earthly responsibilities and how to please her husband."
1 Corinthians 7:32-34

Hey everyone!

Lately I have really been struggling with the fact that I am single. I even started to believe that there were things wrong with me, because potential guys that had interest in me tended to fade away as quickly as they came. As I was trying to cope with my insecurities, I was seeing all of these couples frolicking and in love and it made me want to be in a relationship even more! In order to reduce my crying stress, that I needed to focus more on God. God revealed to me that He has plans for my period of singleness. While I am sitting here complaining and sad, God was trying to get my attention to tell me about the things that he wanted me to do...I was missing out on a major blessing!

Later on that week, I received an email from Kim Brooks' ministry for single ladies regarding her upcoming BlogTalk radio show entitled "What To Do While You Wait". This show was all about embracing your singleness, the very thing that I had been (and still am) struggling with! Praise be to God! God definitely sends confirmation through multiple mediums when He reveals something to you. I listened to the show and she ministered to my spirit so much that I couldn't help but share the show with others! The show is only 30 min and she uses scriptural support to deliver her message. I was truly blessed and I know that others will be too! Hang it there single ladies, God's got big plans in store for us as long as we seek Him and put our faith in Him!

naturalNaijabeauty does Pin Curls!

3/13/2012 - - Edited to add:
Here are the results of my first pin curl attempt!

Pins curls in the mornin'

Before fluffing and separating curls...

Don't I look cute? lol!

Front view of style

For more drama, I added a red lip to the mix...I also  put on eyeshadow and mascara to make my eyes POP!

Finished look! :)
Overall, I really liked the hairstyle although my curls started to fall and frizz up as soon as my hair was exposed to the humid air. :( It's seeming more and more likely that my hair has difficulty retaining curls unless it is set while wet... I'm going to try this style again on Wednesday evening to see if I get better results. I'll keep y'all posted!

P.S. If you have any ideas on how I can keep my hair from frizzing up and preserve my hairstyles, please comment below or shoot me an email!

Hey lovelies!
With my hair in its current flat-ironed state, I wanted to find a easy to add more curls and body without applying more heat. So after watching tons of YouTube videos, I've finally decided to attempt the infamous pin curls hairstyle! Yay! I won't do a video on my technique yet because this is just my first time and there's still plenty of kinks to work out... I did take plenty of pictures though, so take a look.
I'll take pictures of the results and post them later.

Peace & love,

Affirmation--> You have the victory!

Hey lovelies!

Today's affirmation speaks volumes to me. No matter what I am going through, I have the victory to get through it because I am a child of God! That is such great news that I have a conqueror within me and that no matter what snares, traps, our strongholds satan sends my way, I HAVE THE VICTORY! All praise and honor and glory to my Savoir Jesus the Christ!

P.S. I will be posting these everyone once in a while to inspire and motivate others as well as myself. My hope is that these affirmations are a blessing to you all as they are to me!

Affirmation--> Today is going to be a great day!

I've noticed that I've been starting my days off on a slightly less positive note lately. My usual bubbly personality has slowly but surely begun to morph into an attitude of ' eh, whatever happens, happens.' and my usual fervor has given way to 'just going with the motions'. This shift in attitude has really taken its toll on me both physically and spiritually. This has got to change-- I'm getting my happy back!

I'm going to start each day with prayer and positive affirmations! I know that God will get my through this rough patch. Praise Him!

Today's affirmation: It's going to be a great day because it's my season!

Love y'all for free,
nNb :)
